Ankh ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal fitness tracking application. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Health & fitness data (via Apple HealthKit): With your permission, Ankh reads the following data types from Apple Health: heart rate recovery, sleep analysis, active energy burned, step count, body mass, and body fat percentage. This data originates from your connected devices (e.g., Whoop, smart scales) and is read locally on your device.
Data you enter manually: Workout logs (exercises, sets, reps, notes), food entries (meals, calories, macros), supplement logs, body measurements, progress photos, and goals.
Photos: If you choose to add photos to share cards, those photos are processed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers.
Account information: If you choose to sign in with Apple for cloud sync, we receive your Apple ID identifier and, optionally, your name and email address. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
All data processing happens on your device. Specifically:
We comply with Apple's HealthKit guidelines:
Anthropic (Claude API): If you use AI analysis features, a summary of your fitness data is sent to Anthropic's servers for processing. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to that data. You can review it at anthropic.com/privacy.
Supabase: If you enable cloud sync, your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in the EU. Supabase's privacy policy applies. See supabase.com/privacy.
Apple: Sign in with Apple is provided by Apple Inc. Apple's privacy policy applies to the authentication process.
We do not use any analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, crash reporting services, or advertising frameworks.
Local data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and iOS Keychain (for sensitive tokens). This data is protected by your device's encryption and passcode.
If you enable cloud sync, data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Supabase's EU servers. Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain, not in plain-text storage.
Your data remains on your device until you delete the app. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.
If you have cloud sync enabled, you can delete your cloud data by signing out from Settings. To request complete deletion of your cloud account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.
Ankh is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
